Insuring health risks
Private health insurance or an insurance product against long waiting lists eg Benendon?

Benendon won't do major surgery, spend the extra and get covered for the lot, last thing you want is to be told you need a heart bypass and Benendon say jog on we're not doing that. The money you spent would be pointless, at least the likes of Bupa have a crack at it.

Queens,, rather you than me mate in this weather. You must be one of the one in ten who's sole ride is Fulham to the city or E14 and back again!

Good to see, although my years as a dispatch rider gives me a bye into the next round. My Triumph Rocket 3R ain't coming out of the garage until late D
February or early March!

Ride safe x

Had a knee Arthroscopy done at Benenden on Tuesday, they were excellent.Well worth the £25 per month for me and the mrs.
Yes its a pain getting there from Essex but well worth it ,and not a long wait from consultation to operation.

I know a little bit about because I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism but I didn't have Graves and Exophthalmos or bulging eyes thing. They just destroyed my thyroid gland with a radioactive pill and put me on thyroid pills for life.

Re: Insuring health risks
Queens,

I go to the Royal Free in Hampstead and I feel SO lucky that I am in their catchment area.

My best pal had some kind of thyroid problem and asked me who I saw at the Free in endocrinology and was he any good? His eyes were literally poking out of his face like they would explode.

I told him that I saw a shit hot consultant and Steve (my pal) looked his Harley St practice up and went to see him at £275.

It turned out that Steve had massive problems with his thyroid and they were going to have to destroy it with a radioactive pill and then give him drugs to emulate a healthy, working thyroid, administered through a transparent tube in a lead lined room then told him not to sit next to anyone for two weeks as he was a radioactive bomb! I bought him a ticket to a home spurs game of course but he didn't go, the cunt.

Anyway, Steve asked how long would he be on the waiting list for the op and the doctor said 'well as you've been to me and spent a few quid once I get back to the Free I'll let you jump the queue as it's such an expensive operation nobody in Harley St would undertake the op'.

£275 spent in consultation at a swish office and two weeks later he was back to his old health.

Basically there are ways and means if you know the system. I wouldn't bother with insurance personally.

By the way, how's the BMW GS working out? Still loving it I hope?

It's a bit cold at the moment but I can't wait to get my Triumph Rocket 3R with its race tune and Competition Werkes full system out again but the road salt would eat it.

Re: Insuring health risks
Depends if you live close to a Benenden hospital and what treatment you would be seeking.
